Explanation

Blame attaches to the one who caused the fault — responsibility cannot be shifted to an innocent party but traces back to its true origin.

Where this applies

  • The company is trying to blame a low-level employee but the real fault lies with management.
  • Blame should trace back to the person who actually caused the problem.
