Maxim 4.6.3

No one should intermeddle with a thing that in no way concerns him.

Explanation

A stranger to a matter has no standing to interfere — the law forbids officious intermeddling in the affairs of others.

Where this applies

  • A busybody inserts themselves into a legal dispute that does not concern them.
  • A stranger interferes in a transaction between two other parties.
