Maxim 8.4.6

Jurisdiction over the principal matter draws to itself jurisdiction over the accessory.

Explanation

A court with jurisdiction over the main controversy may also determine incidental and subsidiary questions arising from it.

Where this applies

  • The court hearing my main case can also decide the related side issues.
  • I don't need to file separate lawsuits for issues that are part of the same controversy.
