Explanation

Partnership is a personal relation — it does not extend by implication to persons with whom one has no direct agreement.

Where this applies

  • Your business partner forms a separate partnership with someone else and claims you are bound by it.
  • A stranger claims to be your partner because they are partners with your partner.
