Explanation

A mere endorsement or suggestion — as distinguished from a warranty or guarantee — imposes no obligation on the recommender.

Where this applies

  • I recommended a product and now they say I guaranteed it would work.
  • A simple recommendation isn't the same as a warranty or guarantee.
  • Endorsing something doesn't make me liable if it doesn't work out.
