Explanation

An obligation or bond created by a particular mode is dissolved by the same mode — what consent created, consent dissolves; what deed established, deed undoes. Cite this alongside 10.4.7 to argue that the method of dissolution must match the method of creation.

Where this applies

• An agreement made by deed can only be dissolved by another deed — a verbal statement is not enough to undo what was formally created.
• A contract created by mutual consent must be undone by mutual consent, not by one side walking away unilaterally.
• A bond established by a written instrument requires a written release to dissolve it — the method of dissolution must match the method of creation.
